The kids had fun celebrating Halloween yesterday. We started the day out by going to a costume contest at Ashley Furniture. David won first place in his age group and won a bike, which he is very proud of. If he had been in Nathan's age group he would have won a Nintendo Wii. When it was David's turn to show the judges his costume, he walked up, transformed into truck mode, then transformed back into Optimus Prime. Everybody cheered for him! He was the only one that everybody clapped for. The one thing I don't like about the contest is that they call the winner of the 9-12 year olds the grand prize winner even though there is a winner in every age group. But everybody told us that David should have been the grand prize winner. He did get to be on the news with Philip, who they interviewed before he knew that David won 1st place.
After the contest we went to the trick-or-treat street on Main Street in downtown Grand Junction. There were a lot of kids there and a lot of the stores have closed so there weren't very many places to get candy. After that, the kids went to a trunk-or-treat at the church and had fun trick-or-treating. A lot of people on Main Street and at the trunk-or-treat asked David to transform for them and they took his picture. He also told anybody that would listen about the bike he won. If you call and ask him about it he will love to tell you about it and tell you exactly how it looks.
